Changing the custom URL of the YouTube channel was not that easy before few months because YouTube doesn’t allow you to change the custom URL of your YouTube channel again and again. But, In the recent update of YouTube, You can easily change YouTube URL Multiple Times.
If you have already taken a custom URL before, and you change the name of your YouTube Channel, your old URL will be useless. So, you will have to change the custom URL by any means.

So, we’ll do it with 2 steps only:)
- Remove the previous URL
- Reclaim a new custom URL
- REMOVE THE PREVIOUS URL
In order to remove the old custom URL go to youtube.com and click on your profile picture right at the top of your screen and click on *My Channel*
As soon as you click this button, you will be on your channel. There you will need to go to the customization section of your channel.
Click on *CUSTOMIZE CHANNEL* button to edit your channel’s settings and it will take you to another page.
So, when you reach this page click on the pencil button right at the top of your profile picture and it will show a new pop-up.
So click on this *EDIT* button and it will show a new window where you will be able to remove your previous URL.
Here you will see your previous custom URL of your channel which you’ll have to remove, So, to remove it lets click on the pencil button which is next to the *SITE* option. And it will show a new pop up.
So, this is the place where you can remove your old Custom URL. You will need to click on the grey cross button to remove the previous URL. and click *OK* right down below and the old URL will be removed.
So, This was the first step of removing the custom URL. Now you can claim a new URL for your channel. So, Let’s see it in the second and last step.
- RECLAIM A NEW CUSTOM URL
In order to reclaim a new custom URL, You’ll need to go to your channel again!
So, after clicking *CUSTOMIZE CHANNEL* button you will be in the customization section of your channel.
So, in the customization section click on your image at the right top of your screen and click on the *SETTING* button which is next to the *CREATOR STUDIO* button and it will take you to the settings of your channel.
Here you’ll need to click *ADVANCED SETTINGS* button and all the main settings will be opened where you will be able to claim a new custom URL.
Click on *CLAIM IT HERE* button and a new window will be pop up where you will be giving a new custom URL.
Here you will be seeing the existing name of your channel which you wanna set as a new URL of your channel, So, select it and click on *CHANGE URL* and then click on *CONFIRM URL* to finalize that URL, and it will be changed successfully. Note:
If your channel name is unique then you will get the same URL according to your channel name, But if you use the name which is already taken by some other YouTube users, you won’t be able to get that name in your custom URL.
But if your YouTube channel name is unique and nobody is using that name on their YouTube Channel, Then you can definitely grab it for your channel URL.
